How Long Does a Dental Bone Graft Last?

After Vitality Bone graft material is converted into live bone (approximately 4 months), the newly formed bone can last a lifetimeif a dental implant is placed.

However, if you undergo dental bone graft surgery and do not proceed with implant placement, the regenerated bone may gradually resorb and be lost over time.

Once your bone graft has healed, it is best to place your dental implant within 6 to 12 months. Waiting longer may lead to shrinkage of the new bone.
